Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This policy explains what information MuzikiGo handles, why, and what choices you have. It describes what the service actually does today; if that changes, this page will be updated.

What MuzikiGo is

MuzikiGo is a music discovery service for African music. We publish catalogue information — songs, artists, albums, genres and editorial charts — and link listeners to the official streaming services where that music is available. MuzikiGo does not host, store or supply audio files, and does not offer downloads.

Information you give us

You can browse MuzikiGo without giving us any personal information. Information is only collected when you choose to send it:

  • Music submissions. When you use the Submit Your Music form, we receive the artist name, song title, a contact email address, an optional release date and the official streaming links you provide. These are stored so our editorial team can review them.
  • Email enquiries. If you email info@muzikigo.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.
  • Editorial accounts. MuzikiGo has a private dashboard used only by our own editorial team. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider using an email address or a Google account. There are no public listener accounts and no sign-up is offered to visitors.

Technical information

Like any website, MuzikiGo is served by hosting infrastructure that automatically records standard request information such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page and timestamps. This is used to run and secure the service, diagnose faults and prevent abuse.

Cookies and local storage

MuzikiGo uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how the website is used. Google Analytics sets cookies to measure aggregate traffic and behaviour, such as page views and how visitors reach the site. These are analytics cookies, not advertising cookies. Browser storage is also used for essential purposes, such as keeping a signed-in editorial team member's session active. You can block or delete Google Analytics cookies in your browser settings, or via Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Analytics

MuzikiGo uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate website usage — which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and general usage patterns — so we can improve the service. Google Analytics processes this information on our behalf and may store it in the United States or other countries. The data is used to understand aggregate usage, not to build personal profiles. We do not track the private admin or sign-in areas of the site.

How information is used

  • to operate the site and show catalogue and chart pages;
  • to review, verify and respond to music submissions;
  • to reply to enquiries, corrections and rights-related reports;
  • to keep the service secure and prevent abuse;
  • to fix problems and improve the service.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not send marketing email.

Third-party music services and embedded players

Song pages may include an official embedded player supplied by Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music or SoundCloud, and buttons that open those services in a new tab. These players are loaded directly from the provider. When one loads, or when you press play or follow a link, that provider receives information such as your IP address and may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy — which MuzikiGo does not control.

MuzikiGo does not download, copy, cache, proxy or redistribute audio or video from these services. Playback happens inside the provider's own player.

Service providers

We rely on third-party infrastructure to run MuzikiGo — website hosting and content delivery, and a managed database and authentication service that stores catalogue records, submissions and editorial accounts. These providers process information on our behalf so the service can function.

When information may be disclosed

  • to the service providers described above, so MuzikiGo can operate;
  • where we are legally required to do so, or to respond to a valid legal request;
  • to protect the rights, safety and security of MuzikiGo, our users, artists or the public, including investigating misuse;
  • with your consent.

Retention

Approved catalogue information is published and kept for as long as it remains relevant to the service. Submissions and enquiry correspondence are kept only as long as needed for review, record-keeping and handling any follow-up, and are removed when no longer needed.

Security

Access to submissions and editorial tools is restricted to authenticated members of the MuzikiGo team, and the database enforces those restrictions at row level. Traffic is served over HTTPS. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold.

External links

MuzikiGo links to streaming platforms, artist profiles and other external sites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices; please read their policies.

Children's privacy

MuzikiGo is a general-audience music discovery service and is not directed at young children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted, and to object to certain uses. Email info@muzikigo.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as MuzikiGo develops — for example if analytics, advertising, payments or listener accounts are introduced. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
