About This Song
Pesa is the twentieth track from Tanzanian singer and songwriter Ibraah's 2026 album 1B (The Other Side of the Face), featuring veteran Tanzanian hip-hop artist Chidi Beenz. The Swahili title Pesa translates to "Money," a subject frequently explored in contemporary African music through themes of ambition, financial success and everyday life. The collaboration connects Ibraah's melodic Bongo Flava background with Chidi Beenz's established presence in Tanzanian hip-hop. Following Gwaride featuring Young Lunya, Pesa continues the album's collaborative sequence, bringing together artists from different generations of Tanzania's urban music scene.
