About This Song
Walipita is the thirtieth track from Tanzanian singer and songwriter Ibraah's 2026 album 1B (The Other Side of the Face). The Swahili title Walipita translates to "They Passed By" or "They Came and Went." The expression can evoke memories, changing relationships and the passage of time, although the song's specific lyrical message has not been independently verified. Following Story Za Bongo, Walipita continues the album's sequence of solo performances, contributing to Ibraah's extensive collection of contemporary Bongo Flava and Afro-Pop music.
