About This Song
“Cherie” is a romantic collaboration by Tanzanian singers Zuchu and Lava Lava from Zuchu’s 2024 album Peace And Money. The song captures the excitement of being deeply attracted to someone, with both artists expressing admiration, affection and amazement at the person they love. Its playful lyrics revolve around finding affectionate names for a lover, including “cherie” and “baby,” while Zuchu and Lava Lava trade melodic vocals over a polished East African pop production. Produced by Gopa Beats, “Cherie” brings together two WCB Wasafi voices in a warm, flirtatious Bongo Flava love song.
