Simi is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and sound engineer known for her distinctive vocals and blend of Afrobeats, Afro-Pop, R&B and soul. Born Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye in Lagos, she began her musical journey singing in church and initially pursued gospel music, releasing her debut album Ogaju in 2008. She gained mainstream recognition with “Tiff” in 2014 before releasing the acclaimed album Simisola in 2017. Her catalogue has since expanded through projects including Omo Charlie Champagne, Vol. 1, Restless II, TBH (To Be Honest) and Lost and Found, alongside popular songs such as “Joromi,” “Duduke,” “Doyin,” “Woman” and “Men Are Crazy.” After leaving X3M Music, Simi launched her independent label Studio Brat in 2019 and has continued developing her career as an artist, songwriter and producer.
