Toka Mwanzo

About This Song

“Toka Mwanzo” is a Bongo Flava song by Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz featuring Fatma and Romy Jones, from the album Kamwambie. Sung mainly in Swahili with some English phrases, the song explores mistrust, jealousy and disappointment in a relationship. Its central message is about wishing a partner had been honest from the beginning instead of allowing love to grow while their feelings were elsewhere. Featuring contributions from Fatma and Romy Jones, the track closes Kamwambie with a relationship-driven story characteristic of Diamond Platnumz’s early songwriting.
