Mimi

About This Song

“Mimi” is a 2026 hip-hop single by Kenyan rapper Kapitani built around themes of identity, confidence and staying true to yourself. Moving between Sheng, Swahili and English, Kapitani delivers assertive bars about his personality, career, ambitions and approach to life while refusing to conform to other people’s expectations. The recurring idea of “huyo ndio mimi” — “that’s who I am” — gives the track its central message of self-identity and authenticity. Produced by Fyat and 1Thermo, “Mimi” continues Kapitani’s growing presence in Kenya’s contemporary rap scene following his breakout with “Kitemeo.”
