About This Song
“Number One” is an unplugged love song by Tanzanian singer Zuchu from her 2021 EP Zuchu Unplugged. The track celebrates a partner who holds a special place in her life, with Zuchu describing the happiness, affection and emotional comfort she finds in the relationship. Its recurring “number one” refrain reinforces the idea of choosing one person above everyone else. This unplugged rendition presents Zuchu’s part of the song as a solo performance, placing greater emphasis on her vocals and romantic songwriting. Produced by Rody Joh, it is the fourth track on the five-song Zuchu Unplugged EP.
