Swahili Kid is the debut album by Tanzanian singer D Voice, released in November 2023 through WCB Wasafi. The 10-track project introduces D Voice’s energetic Singeli roots while incorporating elements of Bongo Flava and contemporary Tanzanian pop. The album features collaborations with Zuchu, Mbosso, Lava Lava and Diamond Platnumz. Songs including “Umenifunza,” “BamBam,” “Mpeni Taarifa,” “Nimezama,” “Turudiane” and “Kama Wengine” showcase D Voice’s melodic delivery alongside some of the leading artists from the WCB Wasafi roster. Released shortly after D Voice joined WCB Wasafi, Swahili Kid represents an important milestone in his career and helped introduce his Singeli-influenced sound to a wider Bongo Flava audience.
